A.L.V.O.X: Grounded RAG for Gala Games HR

The problem

HR teams field the same policy questions over and over, and a generic chatbot will confidently invent answers. For HR and compliance, a made-up answer is worse than no answer, so the assistant had to stay strictly grounded in the company's real documents.

What I built

• Embed company documents into Pinecone using OpenAI embeddings
• Retrieve the most relevant passages per question (grounded retrieval)
• Answer strictly from the retrieved source, with citations back to the document
• Gracefully respond with 'I don't have that' for anything outside the source material
• Deliver it as a Slack app built on NestJS, where HR already works

Outcome

• Employees get instant, trustworthy policy answers inside Slack
• Every answer is grounded and cited; no hallucinated policy
• Shipped in production for Gala Games' HR
